Return to Pooh Corner

                                                              "Return To Pooh Corner"

Christopher Robin and I walked along
Under branches lit up by the moon
Posing our questions to Owl and Eeyore
As our days disappeared all too soon
But I've wandered much further today than I should
And I can't seem to find my way back to the Wood

So help me if you can
I've got to get back
To the House at Pooh Corner by one
You'd be surprised
There's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin and Pooh

Winnie the Pooh doesn't know what to do
Got a honey jar stuck on his nose
He came to me asking help and advice
From here no one knows where he goes
So I sent him to ask of the Owl if he's there
How to loosen a jar from the nose of a bear

Help me if you can
I've got to get back
To the House at Pooh Corner by one
You'd be surprised
There's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin and Pooh

It's hard to explain how a few precious things
Seem to follow throughout all our lives
After all's said and done I was watching my son
Sleeping there with my bear by his side
So I tucked him in, I kissed him and as I was going
I swear that the old bear whispered "Boy welcome home"

Believe me if you can
I've finally come back
To the House at Pooh Corner by one
What do you know
There's so much to be done
Count all the bees in the hive
Chase all the clouds from the sky
Back to the days of Christopher Robin
Back to the ways of Christopher Robin
Back to the days of Pooh

Kenny Loggins wrote the first 2 verses of this song in the original
"HOuse at Pooh Corner"
when he was a senior in high school. He was about to take his finals
and felt like he was closing a chapter of his life.
The last few verses were written years later when he became a father for
the first time.

Every time I hear this song I get teary eyed!
There is nothing more special then being a parent and I value every minute with my little Lily!
The Holidays are sweeter and I feel like a kid again.
Santa seems more real and Christmas music is more cheerful!
I remember 2 years ago when I was working at the law firm, I only had one day off for Christmas. I was so homesick for my family and we were in the middle of doing treatment to try and get pregnant. It was a very low point in my life and this song always came to mind.
I wanted to be a kid again. I didnt want to have to worry about so many things.
But the last verse of his song would always play in my head.

"Its hard to explain how a few precious things
seem to follow throughout all our lives
After all said and done I was watching my son
sleeping there with his bear by his side.
So I tucked him in, I kissed him
and as I moved on, I swear that old bear whispered
BOy, welcome home"

I knew that one day I would be a mom and that I would tuck in my
babies and I would feel that joy of knowing that I get to
be a kid again with my own kids, and watch them as they discover life!

So now, 2 years later, my baby is almost one and is such a joy.
She is the light of my life and she makes me appreciate the small stuff!
I feel like I have finally come back to my own Pooh Corner!

The Graduate...minus Mrs Robinson!:)

On Friday Ben graduated from Washburn Law School.
I am so so so proud of him.
Law school is hard!
It involves hours of classes and homework and studying.
I listen to one lecture and I was like
"how the heck did you do this for 3 years."
But he did it!

We are so proud of you Ben!
Love you

Benja-Dad

In the past year that Lily has been in our life I have not done a post about Ben
as a dad and I think its about time!

Ben is such a cute, sweet awesome dad who just worships Lily.
Here is a list of all the cute things he does!
He just thinks she is the cutest thing and Lily thinks the same about him!
Everytime he walks into the room, Lily gets this huge grin and crawls to him. She then stands up on his
legs and  puts up her arms for him to pick her up.
He immediately does and they just smile at each other and she nuzzles into his neck.
He is so nurturing and if she cries he gets so concerned and wants to make sure she is ok and happy.

He rocks her to sleep and its the sweetest sight to see.
Ben likes to teach her things. He watches Spanish shows with her on his kindle.
THey watch Thumbilina and Sesame Street and other random cartoons.

They just snuggle on the couch together and Lily always looks so relaxed with him.
He reads her stories and always does it in a cute voice.
He says he is excited to read her books when she gets older.
I can definitely see Lily being a daddys girl.
They look identical and always give the same expressions. Its pretty funny to see them together.
TWINS

When I think of the perfect dad I think of Ben.
I cant wait to see what they are like together when she gets older.
I think they are very similar in a lot of ways and I cant wait to see more of their personalities come out in each other!

Sleep time

I just love them so much!

Thanksgiving

This year for Thanksgiving we went to Missouri to hang out with all the Romneys.
(we were only missing 6)
It was so nice to go and relax and enjoy everyones company!
For having so many people there all at once, everything ran pretty smoothly.
There was really only one night where things were kind of crazy.
Thanksgiving day was pretty great!
We had our traditional Romney football game and it was fun to be outside.
I sat in the sidelines with Lily and cheered Ben on!

Lily turned 11 months on Thanksgiving day!

The Girls
(were missing Jen, Adelyn and Lena)

BIg ol Family
Zo looks like he is our child but he is in fact Celeste and Miles.
Zo was attached at the hip to Ben and always wanted him to play ZOMBIES with him.
It was sweet.

our little family!

Lily wasnt really interested in dinner. She only wanted to chew on the veggie tray

After dinner we were all hanging downstairs and Aunt Rebekah gave Hazel some
diet coke and it must have taste like heaven to Hazel because she started screaming in excitement.
It was hilarious!
On friday we went Black Friday shopping and got some good deals.
Later that night all of us went to Catching Fire and nanny stayed home with all the kids.
THank you Nanny!
(I forgot to take a picture but there was so many of us so it would have been hard)
It was really fun to watch the babies together.
Lily and Elizabeth are only 2 months apart and they had fun exploring together

Bath time

At Monday everyone went to go pick up a Christmas tree in Lee Summit and
then we went to see Bens old house.
It is such a beautiful home!

All in all it was a great trip and it was so nice to spend a week with everyone!
I love having family close!
